Voice Change

Voice change হচ্ছে ক্রিয়ার প্রকাশভঙ্গি যার মাধ্যমে বোঝা যায় যে কোন বাক্যের subject কাজটি করছে/করেছে/করবে নাকি কাজটি subject দ্বারা করা হচ্ছে/হয়েছে/হবে।

Voice change is the way of expressing verbs which describes whether the subject does the work or it has been done by the subject.


Types of Voice Change : Voice Change 3 প্রকার : Active Voice , Passive Voice and Quasi-passive voice


A. Active Voice : যে sentence-এ ‍ subject নিজে সক্রিয়ভাবে কাজটি করে সেই sentence-এ verb-এর active voice হয়।

The sentence in which the subject does the work by himself actively in that sentence the verb has an active voice.

B. Passive Voice : যে sentence-এ ‍ subject নিজে সক্রিয়ভাবে কাজটি করে না বরং object-এর কাজটি তার দ্বারা করা হয় সেই sentence-এ verb-এর passive voice হয়।

The sentence in which the subject does not do the work by himself actively rather the object’s work is done by the subject in that sentence the verb has passive voice.

C. Quasi-passive voice : A sentence that does not mention a doer, the action term itself acts like a doer, is called an official word.

Order/Advise

If the verb is transitive, this rule is suitable.

Aff: Let + Object + be + V-3.

Neg: Let + not + Object + be + V-3.

Active: Change the voice.

Passive: Let the voice be changed.


Optative Sentence

There is a voice change rule of optative sentence. Read and follow the rule and match with the examples.

Voice Change Rule: May + Object +be + V-3 + by + Subject.

Active: May God bless you.

Passive: May you be blessed by God.

Active: May they win the match.

Passive: May the match be won by them.
